Brechin City have announced the signing of midfielder Callum Tapping from Queen of the South on a permanent deal. Tapping leaves the Doonhamers following the Championship side signing defender Myles Beerman on loan until the end of the season.
Speaking following the departure of Tapping, Queen of the South manager Gary Naysmith said: "I have had several talks with Callum since the start of the season regarding his frustration at not playing regularly after such a long period of time out of action whilst he was injured with his knee.
"We both agreed that if something came up that suited both parties then we would try and make something happen and that has led to Callum rejoining Brechin. Callum was a popular lad around the dressing room and a model professional.
"I am pleased to say that he never missed a days training this season since he returned from his knee injury at the tail end of last season and I would personally like to thank him for all that he has done for Queen of the South and hope that he stays injury free and enjoys his time at Brechin and beyond”.
Tapping played 17 times for Brechin during the 2014-15 season and after playing 22 times for the Dumfries side this season, City manager Darren Dods made his move for the 24-year-old handing him a deal until the end of the season.
