Aberdeen appeal against Shay Logan red card rejected

Aberdeen's appeal against the red card shown to Shay Logan at Celtic Park following their 1-0 win against the Scottish champions has been rejected.

The full back was sent off after the final whistle on Sunday when he threw a punch out at Celtic defender Mikael Lustig and clashed with Dedryck Boyata in the aftermath as he goaded Celtic supporters, as the rest of the Aberdeen support celebrated and thanked the away fans.

Referee Craig Thomson flashed the red card at Logan who seemed perplexed at the decision.

Aberdeen appealed the sending off and a hearing on Thursday rejected it, which means the 30-year-old will now miss the first three games of next season's league campaign.
