Just a day after Rangers announced a glamour friendly with Benfica in Canada, the Portuguese side have risked the wrath of the Rangers fans and the club itself by listing it in a list of the most corrupt clubs in Europe.
The official club TV channel, Benfica TV, listed Rangers 16th in a list of 'corrupt clubs' that also included the likes of Lazio, Marseille, Juventus, Porto and AC Milan.
The ranking of Europe's 'most corrupt clubs' was allegedly published by the Daily Mail in January 2017, according to former Benfica Vice President José Manuel Antunes on the show, despite no news article ever being published.
The comments come in the wake of Scottish FA chief executive Stewart Regan refusing to participate in an independent review over the handling of the Rangers liquidation and EBT scandal.
It will be interesting to see the reaction from the Ibrox side and their supporters following the airing of this show and the declaration that Rangers are one of the most corrupt clubs in European football.
