Tory MSP and Rangers fan Murdo Fraser has been caught lying on social media after he claimed that Celtic fans at McDiarmid Park disrespected the minutes silence on Saturday. In the days leading up to Celtic's league tie with St.Johnstone it was announced that a minutes silence would be held ahead of the Saturday early afternoon kick off, fuelling comments from many quarters that elements of the Celtic support would disrespect it again.

Sadly for those who held off leaving their houses early to watch their own team play, there was nothing to be outraged over other than maybe the realisation that they had wasted their Saturday lunchtime in the hope that Celtic fans would cause them to take to social media in faux outrage!

Despite this, Tory twitter troll Murdo Fraser took to twitter claiming that Celtic fans DID disrespect the minutes silence and that he heard it on the 'wireless'.

Fraser's comments resulted in a swathe of criticism from fans on social media:

Celtic went on to win their match with St.Johnstone 4-0 extending their unbeaten domestic run to 63 games and in turn breaking a 100-year-old record set by Willie Maley's Celtic side - who went 62 games unbeaten domestically between 1915 and 1917.

Fraser has refused to back up his comments with evidence and has also to date failed to issue an apology for the slur.

He has also remained silent on the news that old Rangers creditors will receive a mere fraction of what they are owed, despite law firms and liquidators BDO reportedly netting a total of more than £12 million. Some creditors could be in line for a mere 3.91p in the pound.

Fraser claimed Rangers' liquidation has left a 'psychological scar' on many Rangers fans - it seems that it has left the Mid Scotland and Fife MSP with hearing problems.

Last Ditch Tackle is unashamedly passionate about Scottish football, with a heavy Celtic slant.
