St Johnstone sign Dundalk striker David McMillan

St.Johnstone have signed David McMillan following the striker’s departure from Dundalk after Stephen Kenny’s side finished runners-up in the League of Ireland.

The 28-year-old has signed a two and a half year deal with Tommy Wright’s side.

Wright, speaking after McMillan signed for the McDiarmid Park side, said: “He’s scored all types of goals, left foot, right foot, headers. And he’s done it at various levels, including European club football.

“David’s a player I’ve known for quite some time and I knew he was coming out of contract and felt the time was right to make a move.

“He has experience of a higher level than just League of Ireland, he’s a hard worker, a good age and without doubt capable of making the step up.”

McMillan, who will be eligible to play for his new side when the January transfer window opens, started his playing career at UCD before having spells with St.Patrick’s Athletic, Sligo Rovers and finally Dundalk.
