Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard may have just been officially unveiled as the new manager of Rangers, but bookmakers Paddy Power are already giving odds on him failing to usurp Celtic.
The 37-year-old is 1/4 odds on to fail a single trophy during his time at Ibrox, while there are odds of EVENS that the former England skipper will be sacked before the end of the 2018-19 campaign.
Celtic remain 11 games unbeaten against Rangers over the past two seasons and once again they are odds on at 4/11 to win the first derby game of the season, while Rangers are 8/1 to claim all three points at the first time of asking.
With Celtic marching towards ten titles in a row, Rangers must win the league title within the next three years, but Paddypower are offering odds of 12/1 for Gerrard to do just that in his debut season.
And if you want to throw your money away then the bookmaker is offering odds of 1000/1 to win the Champions League within the next three seasons.
Paddy Power said: “In recent years, the Scottish league has been more one-sided than a Russian election, so it will be a tough ask for the Liverpool legend to get Rangers back to the top of the SPL.
But, if there’s one person who knows how to stop Brendan Rodgers winning a league title, it’s Steven Gerrard… so you never know!”
