Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths wins Scotland goal of the year

Leigh Griffiths

Striker Leigh Griffiths has been awarded Scotland’s goal of the year for his stunning free kick against England in June.

The Celtic hitman’s second goal of the game won the award, with nearly 10000 votes cast, as he gave Scotland the lead against England at Hampden Park.

Sadly for Scotland, England scored a last minute equaliser through Harry Kane.

Griffiths beat off competition from Glenn Middleton against Montenegro, Andy Robertson against Lithuania and Claire Emslie against Albania.
