Rob Kiernan signs for Southend United in £55,000 deal

Rob Kiernan

Rangers have announced the departure of defender Rob Kiernan to Southend United in a deal reported to be around £55,000.

Kiernan found himself surplus to requirements under Pedro Caixinha and had been training with the club’s under-20 side.

The Irish defender follows Joey Garner and Barrie McKay out of Ibrox and it is expected that Harry Forrester will leave the club sooner rather than later.

The 26-year-old joined Rangers in July 2015 from Wigan, playing 76 times and scoring once.
